Welcome to DOS Lauren Moon!

Originally hailing from Athens, Georgia, Lauren received her B.A. in Communication Studies from Furman University followed by her M.A. in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College of Columbia University. While at Columbia, Lauren relished the time she spent advising students in her role as Assistant Manager for Housing Services. Though never officially a “New Yorker” (a five-year residency was five years too few), Lauren loved the opportunities afforded by living in NYC and supplemented her graduate and professional experiences by working for NGOs such as the Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, Artists Striving to End Poverty, and Sing for Hope. After graduating from Columbia, selection to the IDEX Fellowship in Social Enterprise took her to Hyderabad, India where she focused on developing spoken English initiatives, service-learning opportunities, and mentoring programs at Pragati Vidyaniketan, a school for children from low-income families.

Lauren is thrilled to be joining the OACS team as a Program Coordinator, and, in particular, looks forward to collaborating with staff and faculty to explore the complicated nature of service with Vanderbilt students. As a new Nashvillian, Lauren loves discovering local treasures, especially pertaining to music, yoga, art, and food.
