Dean of Students IT Support continues to deploy Microsoft Sharepoint for users in the supported shops. Sharepoint is a tool which enables collaboration on documents across departments or teams, in a web-based environment. Features include collaborative document editing, integrated version tracking, calendars, data lists, reports, and work flow tools. Like Google Docs, all documents can be edited online via a web browser.

Unlike Google Docs, the data stored in Sharepoint remains in the custody of the University, and DOSIT can assist with problems as they arise.

Look for introductory training sessions in the near future.
