Location

Our lab facility is located in room 303 of the Commons Center. If you are visiting to participate in a study, please enter the Commons and walk up both flights of stairs. The RIPS lab is located directly in front of the staircase on the 3rd floor. Please arrive five minutes prior to your appointment at the time you selected.

Facility

The RIPS lab was established in the summer of 2008. It features state-of-the-art computing capabilities. The lab consists of ten individual carrels. It is apportioned into two separate, but adjoining, rooms that allow for separation of subjects into two groups, thus enabling group-based studies. 

Each station consists of a docked laptop.  A separate administrator′s station, with its own laptop, allows for our Research Assistant to check-in subjects and to monitor the lab.  The RIPS lab is also mobile! The laptops can be taken on the road, into field and community settings. 

Recently, the RIPS lab also added cloud computing capabilities to analyze large datasets like voter files.
