Jeong-Oh Kim (he, him, his) is a senior lecturer in the department of English, where he studies the theories and histories of geography and their application to British literature. He has published on space in poetry and the novel, and has presented at conferences in North America, Europe, and Asia. He was the recipient of a Mellon Foundation fellowship and the Ellen Gregg Ingalls Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching. He provided a professional service to the Modern Language Association as a Delegate Assembly. As a scholar of eighteenth-century and nineteenth-century British literature and culture, he absorbs Anglo-American literary culture and re-interprets it for scholars and students of diverse nationalities and disciplines. Kim joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2018 and has been head of Nicholas S. Zeppos College since 2024.
