In 2024, the NIH Office of Disease Prevention (ODP) selected Jessica Perkins, PhD, MS at Vanderbilt as one of only three recipients of the ODP Early Stage Investigator Award. This award goes to researchers who “are poised to become future leaders in prevention research.” Her research encompasses social norms and health outcomes related to HIV prevention in rural Uganda, structural and social determinants of stigma and HIV prevention and treatment in Tennessee, and health-promoting social norms among adolescents and young adults across the United States.
