familial factors influencing adolescent depression; treatment and prevention

My primary research interests involve understanding the etiology, course, and treatment of depression in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on the interpersonal familial processes relevant to this disorder.  I currently work on a randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of a family-based CBT/coping intervention for families with a history of depression. I am also interested in the construct of expressed emotion, and how expressed parental attitudes may confer risk for depression in children and adolescents.
