The Engineering and Science Building: Timeline

December 2011 - Dean Philippe Fauchet is named the ninth dean of the School of Engineering.

Spring 2012 - An architect is selected for the building.

Summer/Fall 2012 - Town Hall meetings lead to proposals for initial occupants of the new building.

January 2014 - A building plan is presented to Chancellor Nick Zeppos. A detailed business plan was subsequently developed calling for an approximately 220,000 square foot, $105 million facility to open in time for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Spring 2014 - The Executive Committee of the Board of Trust approves the building plan at its spring meeting.

Summer 2014 - The building site adjacent to Olin Hall and 25th Ave. South is fenced and prepped for construction. Construction begins with the clearing of the lot and reclamation of trees for use in the building and preparing underground utilities.
