Postdoctoral research position in the molecular pathogenesis of streptococci.
Department | Pediatrics |
Full Description | Postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony R. Flores in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Research within the Flores Laboratory uses a combination of clinical epidemiology, cutting-edge bacterial “omics”, and models of bacterial pathogenesis to uncover novel features of clonal emergence and mechanisms of pathogenesis in streptococci. Current projects include (1) gene regulatory responses in group A Streptococcus (GAS) to human antimicrobial peptides, (2) two-component system gene regulation and pathogenesis in group B Streptococcus (GBS), and (3) genomic epidemiology of GAS and GBS to detect novel clonal emergence and outbreaks using ongoing clinical strain surveillance. |
Application Details | Please provide a single PDF file containing (1) a cover letter stating your interests, (2) a brief description of prior research experience, (3) a curriculum vitae, and (4) contact information for 2-3 references to: anthony.flores@vumc.org. |
