The Finance area at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management offers a two‐year postdoctoral fellowship for recent graduates with a Ph.D. in Finance or Economics, with research interests in financial economics. The Finance area at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management offers a two‐year postdoctoral fellowship for recent graduates with a Ph.D. in Finance or Economics, with research interests in financial economics.

Postdocs work closely with Owen finance faculty on new research projects, while making progress toward publication of their current work. To be eligible, candidates must complete their Ph.D. by July prior to starting the fellowship. The strongest candidates will be those whose research interests align closely with Owen faculty and where the postdoc and faculty member can foresee developing joint research projects. Accepted postdocs receive an annual salary plus benefits, as well as an annual allowance for research/conference‐related travel and expenses. In addition, the school provides access to standard databases such as those through Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS). During the period of the fellowship, postdocs are required to be in residence in Nashville and participate actively in research seminars at Owen. They must collaborate closely with the Owen faculty to initiate and develop novel research project(s) as part of their contribution to the school’s research objectives. Before entering the second year of their fellowship, postdocs must complete a working paper coauthored with an Owen faculty member. The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University is dedicated exclusively to graduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 500 full‐time students in its full‐time MBA, Health Care MBA, Executive MBA, Americas MBA for Executives, Master of Science in Finance, Masters of Accountancy, Masters of Marketing, and Masters of Management in Health Care programs. The school’s full‐time faculty members are actively engaged in research, which is supported in part through the school's four research centers, including the Financial Markets Research Center (FMRC), which fosters scholarly research on the financial markets, instruments, and institutions.
