Incoming First-Year Students (Saturday, August 17)

First-year student move-in is scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2024. Prior to August 17, we will be preparing the halls for your arrival and as a result, will not be able to accommodate early move-in requests.  Pre-approved early arrivals should proceed to the locations indicated above for check-in and key pickup.

When students are emailed their room assignment information on Thursday, August 1, they will also receive a specific move-in time between 7AM and 12PM.  In addition, first-year students will receive a packet of materials in the mail in early August which will include items for move in – a designated house rear view mirror hang tag, a key release card, and a star sticker (used if you plan to arrive via rideshare, taxi, or shuttle).

To provide a positive and efficient move-in experience, we carefully manage the process.  It is extremely important to follow the directions outlined below.  You should NOT report directly to your assigned house.  As you arrive to the Ingram Commons, all vehicles will be directed to their designated Staging Areas where room keys are distributed, and vehicles are held until escorted to the houses for unloading.

All Staging Areas are accessed from Edgehill Avenue.  As you approach the Ingram Commons, signs will be displayed and staff will be available to direct you to the proper location.  Please be sure to follow the posted signs rather than GPS directions as you approach campus.  Please note that if you are arriving to campus via 31st. Ave. S/Blakemore Ave./Wedgewood Ave., there is NO access to the staging areas from 18th Ave. S.  All vehicles arriving from this direction should approach the staging areas from 16th Ave. S.

Route to Staging Areas (Saturday, August 17)

Move-In Directions for Saturday, August 17:

  1. Please report to your Staging Area at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned move-in time.
  2. Once at the Staging Area, you will be issued your assigned room key. Please be sure to have your completed Key Release Card with you.  If you forget your card, one can be provided in the Staging Area.  Please do NOT leave your Staging Area without your room key.
  3. After receiving your room key, you will be escorted to your house to unload your vehicle. Please work in collaboration with the student volunteer Move Crew to unload your vehicle as quickly and safely as possible.  It is extremely important that the driver remains with the vehicle.
  4. Once your vehicle is unloaded, the driver will be directed to long-term parking in the Terrace Place Garage. A shuttle will be available to provide transport from the garage back to the Ingram Commons.

IMPORTANT RIDESHARE INFORMATION:  If you are arriving to the staging area by rideshare, taxi, or shuttle, please be sure to place the star sticker mailed in your housing packet over the driver information on your hangtag.  This will ensure that you get routed to the correct drop off location for rideshare, taxis, and shuttles.

Continuing upper-division students residing in Nashville or other communities over the summer months must ensure their summer lease/sublet extends through Sunday, August 18.  We are not able to accommodate early move-in requests due to early lease end dates.  Please plan your travel to Nashville accordingly.

If you plan to arrive to campus after Wednesday, August 21, please email Housing and provide your anticipated arrival date.

Upon arrival to campus, please report to your designated front desk to check in and pick up your room key.  All students are required to pick up their room key.  Check-in desks are listed below.

Move-in times will range from 1 PM until 3:30 PM and students should report to the check-in location at that time. Room assignment information will be emailed to all incoming transfer students on or before August 9, 2024.
