Chaffin Place
Chaffin Place is across the street from the Student Recreation Center. Bordered by 24th and 25th Avenues, it is convenient to most of the athletic facilities on campus.
Each Chaffin apartment consists of two double bedrooms, a living/dining area, a full kitchen with electric range and large refrigerator and bath with tub/shower combination. Each unit is fully carpeted and air-conditioned. In addition, each apartment has its own patio and patio furniture. The dimensions of the usable living and dining room combination is 12′ x 18′. The bedroom dimension is 10′ x ’12’.
Chaffin Place apartments come in two general types. Some of the apartments (series 100, 200, 300, and 800) are townhouses with bedrooms and baths on the second floor. Other apartments (series 400, 500, 600, and 700) have all amenities on one floor, and the apartments are stacked three high (for example, 732 above 722 above 712.)
Chaffin houses a total of 192 upperdivision students in 48 apartment units. The 100 series apartments are on the 25th Avenue side. The 300 and 800 series apartments are encircled by the remainder of the complex and open onto the Lewis/Morgan courtyard area. A 24-hour information desk is located nearby at Lewis House.
Chaffin Place was completed in 1974 and is named in honor of Dean Nora Chaffin.
