Annual Symposium: The Science of Song

The Program for Music, Mind & Society at Vanderbilt presents the annual symposium, The Science of Song, to be held at Ingram Hall in the Blair School of Music on September 12, 2016 from 2-8 pm. Here are some highlights:
- Opening remarks by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry
- Keynote talk by Isabelle Peretz, Ph.D.
- Featured performer Rodney Crowell
- Songwriters Round featuring Darden Smith, James House and Mary Gauthier
- Spotlight on Vanderbilt Research
- Poster Session featuring presenters from throughout North America and the UK

Another option is to book a room near the Nashville airport (see results from Expedia here.) You can then easily take Uber or Lyft at an economical rate to/from the Blair School of Music. The Blair School is typically a 15 minute drive from the airport.
The Blair School of Music is located on the Vanderbilt University campus, on Children’s Way between 24th and 25th Avenues in Nashville, TN. Here is a link to its location on Google Maps. You are welcome to park in any unreserved parking spot in the West Garage, which is directly across the street from the School.
