Vanderbilt University looks to Central Human Resources for support of the entire employee life cycle and each point is critical. This role will be entry level with alignment to the HR Strategic Initiatives team that drives and supports major HR initiatives and partners with all the HR functions through project support and observation. Through the project/research work as well as support of HR functions, this role impacts both the internal HR department and the university employee population through collaboration and partnership.
As a Vanderbilt SkillBridge Fellow, in your role as Human Resources, you will explore several aspects of HR and learn from industry professionals. This role offers flexibility as it is hybrid and remote work is expected. Some of the activities for this role will include:
- Total Rewards – meeting attendance, shadowing team, research topics
- HR Consulting/Workers Compensation/Leaves – attend meetings, shadowing team, research topics, meeting minutes, real time project
- Employee Learning and Engagement – attend staff trainings, participate in trainings, attend meetings, observe trainers
- Talent Acquisition – resume reviewing, assist candidates with applications, work hiring events or career fairs
- Strategic Initiatives – assist with HR projects, provide support to employees at front desk, attend meetings, review internal HR communications
- HR Project – completion of HR project

Qualifications Required
- One to five years of related experience
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred not required)
