Summer 2025 Academic Intern Housing

The Vanderbilt University Office of Conferences and Events offers a unique 10-week summer housing program for Summer Academic Interns and Researchers. This program is available from Sunday, May 25th, 2025, through Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 for qualified college students. Eligible college students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program. Students must also be actively involved in a supervised work experience related to a student’s major or vocational interest area.

  • The Internship must be a structured learning experience with direct learning outcomes
  • Participants in the Summer Academic Intern Housing Program must be at least 18 years of age or older and must stay for at least three weeks
  • There must be a defined beginning and end date for the internship
  • Eligible interns do not need to be Vanderbilt students to enroll in the Summer Academic Intern Housing Program

Vanderbilt Summer Academic Intern Housing Program participants will reside in the Highland Quad apartments. These available apartments include shared double rooms, one restroom, a communal living area, and a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, and stove. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Vanderbilt offers interns first-rate accommodations at competitive prices! All summer academic intern participants will be housed on the same quad, giving residents the opportunity to interact with peers and other summer academic interns from across the country.

Vanderbilt’s primary concern is to provide a clean, attractive, and safe place to reside while an intern is away from home. Exterior residence hall doors are automatically locked 24 hours a day. Access is granted by a magnetic Vanderbilt ID, which will be provided to participants at check-in. For security purposes, Allied Universal Security Officers will be checking photo ID’s of all individuals entering the residence halls.

Vanderbilt is a pedestrian campus. Parking on campus comes at a premium. Interns can purchase summer parking permits with Vanderbilt University Parking Services. Parking Services | Vanderbilt University

These special housing accommodations are designed to house serious academic students only. All participants are expected to follow University policies and procedures, as well as Tennessee laws. Vanderbilt University reserves the right to evict students found to be in violation of University policy and/or Tennessee Law, and your payment(s) may be forfeited. All students staying it summer intern housing are required to have renters’ insurance with a minimum of $100,000 in liability coverage.
