Using Jamboard to Look at Puns and Wordplay in the Target Language
This project involves the use of the digital platform Jamboard to look at puns and wordplay in the target language. A great deal of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) research shows the positive effects of humor and language play in the language classroom. Puns and wordplay are included in those studies as something beneficial, especially in the way that they promote greater attention to form and form/meaning relationships in the target language. This project allows students to engage with puns and wordplay and to create their own examples of these in the target language.
