JETLaw Symposium is an annual one-day event that showcases some of the brightest scholars and practitioners in the fields of entertainment and technology law. Symposium 2025 will explore developments at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and the law. Panels will feature distinguished speakers discussing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in Healthcare, Emerging Healthcare Technologies, and concerns over Health Data, in addition to a lunchtime keynote interview with Mr. Michael McAlevey, Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer of HCA Healthcare.
We invite legal, medical, and business professionals and academics to join us for our annual Symposium in Vanderbilt Law School’s Flynn Auditorium on February 7, 2025. General Topics & Format of Symposium 2025
- AI/ML in Healthcare – twenty-to-thirty-minute presentations on the ethical, legal, and practical considerations arising from the implementation of artificial intelligence/machine learning technologies in the healthcare industry, and legal implications thereof.
- Emerging Healthcare Technologies – a conversation on the evolving regulatory landscape of emerging healthcare technologies, and considerations for the future of the healthcare industry.
- Protecting Health Data – a discussion of the legal considerations of managing patient health information (PHI) in light of increased data collection and usage, and availability of the tools mentioned in the previous panels.
- The Keynote will be a “fireside chat” between the speaker and one of the faculty members at Vanderbilt Law School, held during the lunch hour. Discussion questions may draw on the speaker’s experience, current role, and thoughts about the legal landscape of Healthcare Technology as it relates to the topics from the panels.
