Mission

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is a team of passionate and experienced international educators dedicated to advocating for and supporting the international community at Vanderbilt. Through holistic advising, collaborative programming and advocacy, ISSS fosters the development and education of international students and scholars and supports the creation of a more intercultural and inclusive community at Vanderbilt. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where international students and scholars feel empowered to make informed decisions and have the tools to navigate a challenging and diverse living and learning experience.

Strategic Goals for 2024-25

• Strengthen university partnerships to streamline communications, enhance advocacy efforts and provide more comprehensive support for international students, scholars, and dependents at Vanderbilt.
• Optimize the client experience by enhancing website and database functionality and incorporating AI-driven best practices for improved user engagement, service delivery, and streamlined interactions.
• Actively engage with international exchange visitors to determine unmet needs, enhance resources and provide increased connections and support for exchange visitors and their families.
