Why has North Korea aggressively developed its nuclear program and are there options for addressing it? This talk will discuss the history of Korea’s nuclear program and what factors led to the current crisis. We will explore why North Korea’s ambitions are different than other countries. Finally, the talk will examine strategies for confronting the challenges presented by North Korea’s nuclear program. In particular, we will discuss possible US actions as well as the role of other countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea.
