Performance Night, World on Wednesday and more March events!
We hope that mid-terms are going well for you! As you finish mid-terms and finalize your spring break plans, we wanted to remind you of a few upcoming events this month:
- Employment Options for International Students: What Employers Should Know: This workshop will give employers a general overview of CPT, OPT/STEM OPT, and Academic Training; additionally, immigration attorney Daniel Oldenburg will discuss H-1B visas. This session will not be a workshop on how to file for these employment options; rather, it will be a resource for employers who would like to hire international students but aren’t sure where to start. The session will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 14, from 12pm to 1pm Central time. Registration is required. To register, please click here.
- International Student & Scholar Performance Night: You are invited to International Student and Scholar Performance Night! This event is sponsored by ISSS and the Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Office. This is your night to shine with your performing arts talent and to be entertained by your peers! We welcome comedians, musicians, singers, dancers, poets and more to share your talent with a short (5 to 7 minutes) performance, along with other artists. Come to perform, or just to watch and enjoy the event! This event will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, from 6pm to 8pm in the Sarratt Cinema. To sign up to perform, or to RSVP just to watch, please complete this form by 12pm on Wednesday, March 15th.
- The Governance of Antarctica: A Continent Without a Country: Antarctica is 10% of Earth’s landmass, yet there are no countries on it and no one owns it. At this World on Wednesday, we’ll discuss how the Antarctic Treaty sets aside Antarctica for peaceful and scientific purposes and is a framework for scientific diplomacy and governing the commons. Professor Dan Morgan, Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Science, will lead this discussion on March 29th at 12pm. Please RSVP – lunch will be provided!
If you have any questions about any of these events, please let us know.
Have a restful and safe Spring Break!
