What does the United States have in common with Sri Lanka, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean? Quite a bit actually! Similar agricultural pressures face both nations – from climate change to urbanization – which is prompting them to produce more food, while using less water. The global food trade links Sri Lanka and the U.S., but the two nations are unique, with their own histories and cultural identities toward water management. Embark on a journey with Thushara Gunda, an Environmental Engineering PhD student, as she discusses what she has learned about the water and food management of each country through the lens of the other.
