VTS’s last dual-professor dinner
Tuesday, November 12th,
5:00 – 7:00 PM
Wilson 112.
There are an abundance of ethical debates around genomics — from genetic therapy to designer babies to genetic privacy. How have concerns about genetic science changed over time? What did discourse around this subject look like — perhaps even before such technology existed — and in what forms and media (literature, cinema, etc.) did such conversation occur? VTS’s last dual-professor dinner of the semester, on genetic engineering, will take place on November 12th, Tuesday, 5 – 7 pm in Wilson 112. This dinner will feature Dr. Jay Clayton (William R. Renan, Jr. Professor of English, Director of Curb Center, and the FIRST literature professor who’s ever received NIH grant) and Dr. Ellen Wright Clayton (Craig-Weaver Professor of Pediatrics, Professor of Law, Professor of Health Policy, Co-Director of Genetic Privacy & Identity Community Settings). As always, the professors will give talk in the first hour. The dinner will be served in the second hour and attendees will engage in a conversation with the professors. Students with all academic backgrounds are welcome to attend. This is also a Faculty Engagement GMB event. Check out our FB event or/and Anchorlink event for more details!
