Vandy Tech & Society’s (VTS) first dual-professor dinner, Artificial Intelligence & Historiography: Searching to Extend Human Intelligence, will take place from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, Oct 10th in the EBI Multipurpose Room. Historiography (i.e., the study of the way history has been and is written) and AI might sound unrelated at first, but the two share many similarities in their purposes, practices, and development. This event will start with Dr. Ole Molvig (History, CSET) and Dr. Maithilee Kunda (Computer Science) each giving a talk on their field of expertise. In the second hour, students can ask their own questions and discuss with the professors over dinner. This is also a Faculty Engagement GME event. All majors are welcome to attend, and the content of the talk will be accessible for students with all academic backgrounds. The dinner is co-sponsored by the History Department and the Computer Science Department. Check out our FB event page for more details!
