Registrations can be completed at the Office of Campus Recreation from 9 am -€“ 5 pm Mon. -€“ Fri. For more info call 3-6627.

There is a $10 Guest Pass for non-student and non-rec center members.

Vandy Cooks: Heart Healthy with Executive Chef George Moran

Location: Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Demonstration Kitchen

February is American Heart Month.   Join Executive Chef Moran as he cooks -€˜heart healthy-€™, utilizing fresh products for a lower fat diet.   Creations will include White Bean Broccoli Soup, Chicken and Black Bean Quesadilla and Yogurt, and Kale with Red Onion Grilled Cheese Sandwich. All sample dishes and take home recipes are created by Chef Moran.

The Vandy Cooks demonstrations are offered monthly in the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Demonstration Kitchen to celebrate healthy eating at Vanderbilt.  The demonstration kitchen is located on the first floor of the Center.

Vanderbilt Swim School Private Swim Lessons Offered now through April 2nd.

All classes are held on Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesday and Thursday for two weeks in a row.

All private lessons consist of four 40-minute classes at a cost of $150 per session.

 

Private Instruction is designed for individual attention on strokes of your choice. The instructor can start from the beginning or help with stroke refinement or teaching additional strokes. Private Lessons are for ages 2 and up.

Couch to 5k & Half Marathon Clinics

February 9 – April 2

Whether you are brand    new to running or getting ready for race season, join VRWC Fitness Associates, Wade Evans and Tony Lewis for an 8 week training program that includes weekly training schedules and led instruction. Every participant receives a Country Music Marathon registration discount and 4 lucky winners will receive their CMM entry on us!

Drop in, no need to register.

Mondays:
7 am -€“ Couch to 5k
6:30 pm – ½ Marathon

Thursdays:
7 am -€“ ½ Marathon
6:30 pm -€“ Couch to 5k

Indoor Triathlon

March 22, 2015 is the big event date and registration ends March 16th! Beginners and seasoned triathletes receive individual leg practice days as well as a full run through of the course prior to the event. Register today!

Plank of Fame


The first fitness challenge of the spring is here! The goal is to collect 15,000 plank minutes by the end of February. To contribute your time,  see a VRWC Fitness Attendant!
