WHITEWATER RAFT & CAMP @ Ocoee River, TN
Cost: $97 Sign-up by: Mon., April 9 Pre-Trip Meeting: Tue, Apr 10 at 6 PM
Whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River is packed with fun and excitement on back-to-back rapids! After camping out Friday night, we will be guided down the mighty Ocoee in rafts of 5-6 paddlers each. As a bonus, the Ocoee River is located in a beautiful gorge. No experience is necessary. Est. trip duration: 6 PM Fri. - 7 PM Sat.

CLIMBING @ Kings Bluff, TN
** This trip is for Beginner Climbers **
Cost: $20 Sign-up by: Fri, Apr 9 Pre-Trip Meeting: Tue, Apr 10 at 5 pm
Wall climbers, it-s time to try the -real thing-! Kings Bluff is a great location for both beginner and intermediate climbers. Some climbing experience is preferred, so try the wall first! Shoe rental = $5.50 extra. Estimated trip duration: 9 AM - 5 PM.

KAYAKING @ Harpeth River, TN
Cost: $33 Sign-up by: Fri, Apr 9 Pre-Trip Meeting: Wed, Apr 11 at 5 PM
This 6.4-mile trip is designed specifically for the beginner kayaker. The nearby Harpeth River is a gentle, State Scenic River, and kayaking is a great opportunity to paddle your own boat. All equipment is included in the trip fee. Estimated trip duration: 9 AM - 4 PM.

BOARDWALK BUILDING @ Beaman Park, Nashville, TN

Beaman Park is a relatively new park in Nashville that is being developed as a more natural park, rather than a -ball field park-. This time we will help finish a 350- boardwalk that makes a trail accessible from the Nature Center to an overlook. We may also plant some trees. Experienced trail volunteers and equipment will be provided to help us. Lunch is also provided, and hiking afterward is an option. Estimated trip duration: 8 AM - 3 PM

HIKING @ Short Springs SNA, TN
Cost: $19 Sign-up by: Fri, Apr 13 Pre-Trip Meeting: Tue, Apr 17 at 6 PM
Short Springs is a small 420-acre State Natural Area that includes rich woods, forest ravines, low cascades, springs, and big, beautiful waterfalls. We will hike the 2.9 mile moderately difficult trail and hang out at the waterfalls. If time allows, we will hike the 2.6 mile trail at the nearby Old Stone Fort State Park. Estimated trip duration: 8 AM - 6 PM.

KAYAK TOURING @ Center Hill Lake, TN
Cost: $37 Sign-up by: Fri, Apr 13 Pre-Trip meeting: Thu, Apr 19 at 5 PM
Kayak touring is a fun, relaxing way to explore a lake. We will spend part of the day paddling around on scenic Center Hill Lake in middle Tennessee. Highlights will include wooded shorelines and checking out a cove or two. Beginners are welcome. All paddling equipment is provided. Estimated trip duration: 8 AM - 5 PM.

BACKPACKING @ Great Smoky Mountain N.P., TN
Cost: $115 Sign-up by: Fri, Apr 20 Pre-Trip Meeting: Mon, Apr., 23 at 5 PM
Springtime in the Smokies: a perfect way to round off another semester at Vanderbilt! We plan on hiking three 5-7 mile days up, down, and around the Smokies. Specific trails are still to be determined. Beginners are welcome, but you need to be in shape, as the terrain will be challenging! Be prepared for all types of weather. Est. trip duration: 6 PM Thurs. - 8 PM Sun.

To sign up for a trip, come to the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC), located on 2600 Children’s Way, kind of behind the Student Rec. Center, and pay a deposit or the full amount of the trip.
