Nichols Humanitarian Fund Award: 33 Students Selected
Thirty-three students have been selected to receive the Nichols Humanitarian Fund Award to pursue humanitarian projects during the summer of 2015. The award enables students to work with communities on humanitarian efforts including human rights, public health, immigrant rights, early childhood education, microfinance, and environmental sustainability. The average GPA of the student recipients is 3.5 and the countries where they will work include South Africa, Vanuatu, Morocco, Thailand, Guyana, Ecuador, Russia, India, Nepal, and England. Since its establishment, the Fund has awarded 218 scholarships to Vanderbilt students to enable them to pursue humanitarian missions to virtually every region of the world.
