Memorial Gathering for Mary McClure Taylor
The Office of the Chancellor invites all students to attend a memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Mary McClure Taylor, who served as University Receptionist and had a life-long association with Vanderbilt. The memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, October 9 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Kirkland lobby that was named in her honor.
Ms. Taylor was a Vanderbilt alumna and an avid Commodores fan. After her graduation in 1953, she served the university as a dedicated staff member for 59 years and greeted students and visitors in her role as University Receptionist up until just months before her death this summer on Aug. 5.
With her genuine sense of warmth and compassion, Ms. Taylor was a living inspiration to all generations but especially to Vanderbilt-s student community. Join Chancellor Zeppos, faculty, and staff for refreshments as the University celebrates the memory of this beloved member of the Vanderbilt family.
A memory book will be available for signing at the reception and through the month of October.
