Director Albert Fuguet filmed this full-length feature on Vanderbilt ¹s campus with assistance from Vanderbilt students. A Chilean guitarist mending his broken heart follows a love interest to America and subsequently throws himself into Nashville ¹s music scene. When he is rebuffed and forced to re-evaluate his life ¹s choices he discovers what it means to be a Chilean in the American Dream. Shown at Lincoln Center ¹s Latinbeat and the Nashville Film Festival. Immediately following the screening there will be a Q&A session with Producer, Sarah Childress and Director of Photography, Ashley Zeigler. English and Spanish with English subtitles. Two American women who lost their husbands in the 9/11 tragedy, cope with loss and struggle to raise their families by dedicating themselves to empowering other Afghan widows whose lives have been ravaged by decades of war, poverty and oppression. From their comfortable Boston neighborhoods to the most desperate Afghan villages, they bond with widows and discover profound ways to move beyond tragedy, one woman at a time. Not Rated. 96 mins.
