Lori Troxel
Lori Troxel is a Professor of the Practice of Civil and Environmental Engineering with teaching responsibilities in the areas of structural engineering and sustainable design. As the faculty advisor for the Vanderbilt student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, she and the chapter have received national recognition for their outstanding chapter. She is a fellow of ASCE and the Structural Engineering Institute. She has been awarded the Chancellor’s Cup, the Madison Sarratt Prize for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, INSIGHT Into Diversity Inspiring Women in Stem Award, and the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Vanderbilt School of Engineering. She is a member of the American Society of Engineering Educators and enjoys implementing innovative teaching strategies and developing senior design projects. Leading an interdisciplinary study abroad course on sustainable building and infrastructure has helped Vanderbilt engineering students study abroad in Northern Ireland, Spain and Israel.
