Caroline Walker Cork, Ireland - Bessborough Centre

The Bessborough Centre is a charitable organization in Cork, Ireland, which provides services specifically tailored to vulnerable families with a variety of needs from counseling to education to daycare. This summer, I worked in the Crèche branch of the center, which provides early childhood education for children whose families are part of the Bessborough network as well as children from the greater Cork community. There, I helped with developing projects focused on cultures and identities culminating in a final compilation of “Action Plans” with the goal of review by the Síolta board, which accredits early childhood programs in Ireland and assists with the attainment of grants for the improvement of the Crèche as a whole.
