Connor Henderson Nashville, TN - Oasis Center

From May 5 to July 1, 2014, I completed a summer project in Nashville, Tennessee through the Ingram Scholarship Program to implement sustainable practices into the Oasis Center’s LGBT programming. At the end of my project, I provided the agency with resources to extend their impact as well as to ensure program stability with the fluctuation of resources. On a personal note, I learned how invaluable it is to promote change within my own community in Nashville and within my family, the LGBT community. I’ve also clarified career aspirations as I move away from the script of a Vanderbilt graduate toward a career path that is aligned with my aspirations, lived experience, and skillset.
