Presentations

Roundtable Presentations

The Roundtable Presentation is a required event for all cohort members that allows participants to prepare for their formal presentations during the fall or spring undergraduate research fair (VURF). There are several dates and times to choose from. Make-up sessions are provided on a limited basis.

Important Details for the Roundtable Presentation

  • Each student will be placed at a table with 3-4 other cohort members.
  • Each student will be allotted ten minutes to speak. 5-7 minutes will be for presenting the research and at least 3 minutes will be reserved for students to ask questions at the end.
  • YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING A POSTER. You can bring handouts, PowerPoint slides, or any other type of demonstrative but nothing is required.
  • After each ten-minute period, the next student will begin their presentation. Time will be kept by a timer in the room.
  • PIs and mentors are welcome to attend and will be seated behind their mentee.
  • Students will be assigned a table during their session; they will not pick their table.
  • Everyone stays for the entire hour and participates as both a presenter and audience member.

Vanderbilt Undergraduate
Research Fair (VURF)

The VURF provides an opportunity for our undergraduates to share their work in a campus-wide celebration of undergraduate student research.  Participation in the research fair is the final requirement for the VUSRP experience. Presentation preparation tips can be found on the VURF website.

The spring 2025 VURF is scheduled for April 17, 2025 in the SLC Ballroom. Registration will open in March 2025.
