JJ Johnson

A chemistry major, Johnson opened up to his artistic side, creating a a personal and emotionally challenging collection of poetry called “Black Romanticism.”

Jared Wheatley

A student-athlete majoring in economics, Wheatley used data collection and analysis to create models that optimize successful athletic performance during competition.

Benedict Ballman

Benedict Ballman, a class of 2025 Public Policy and Economics major, will be traveling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the screening of the film “Imagine,” which he produced with fellow Vanderbilt students.

Ariel Olaleye

Ariel Olaleye, a vocal performance major at Vanderbilt, presented her capstone project exploring the intersection of Western and Nigerian classical music traditions, highlighting her summer research across multiple countries. Supported by the inaugural Summer Keegan Travel Fellowship, her work emphasizes music as a unifying force that transcends cultural boundaries and advocates for amplifying underrepresented voices in the performing arts.

How Immersion Vanderbilt turned Logan Glazier into a hands-on expert

“It’s really empowering,” says the 20-year-old junior. “It’s easy to write classwork off as some pointless math on paper, but then you put it into practice and actually see that, wow, I know this is going to support the amount of weight I need because I’ve done the math and used all the knowledge in class to put it into reality.”
