NSF REU supplement awarded to the Hillyer Lab, 2013

A “Research Experiences for Undergraduates” (REU) Award has been made by the National Science Foundation to principal investigator Julián Hillyer. This grant will support the research and stipend of one undergraduate student during the summer of 2013. This award is a supplement to the lab’s NSF grant titled “Hemolymph circulation in mosquitoes” (NSF IOS-1257936), and represents a mentoring collaboration between Professor Julian Hillyer (Vanderbilt University) and Professor Steve Murphree (Belmont University).

The Division of Integrative Organismal Systems (IOS) supports research aimed at an integrative understanding of organisms. The goal is to predict why organisms are structured the way they are, and function as they do.
