  • Our Peer Coaches are available to meet with undergraduate students to discuss wellbeing topics. Peer coaches do not cover academic skills or financial wellbeing topics.

Academic Skills

Through academic coaching, students can polish study skills and learn to manage their time in order to apply those skills effectively. While academic coaching is helpful to students who are experiencing academic difficulties, it is also beneficial to anyone who wishes to enhance their academic effectiveness. In addition to the academic coaching topics highlighted above, we also support students around

  • Evidence-based learning strategies and implementation
  • Time management and organizational/study skills
  • Test preparation
  • Writing papers and reports
  • Dissertation block coaching
  • Structure and accountability for long-term independent projects
  • Stress and anxiety due to academic issues

Please bring relevant schoolwork, schedules, books,  and/or planners and calendars to meetings.

Wellbeing Coaching

Through wellbeing coaching, students will identify areas of growth, set goals, and develop plans to achieve these goals. Students will receive accountability from their CSW coach and, together, the coach and student will identify any barriers present in achieving goals and make adjustments in order to help the student improve their personal wellbeing. Wellbeing coaching could include any of the following topic areas:

  • Wellbeing time management (i.e., creating a healthy morning routine, improving sleep schedule, finding time for self-care)
  • Personal organization
  • Stress management and coping skills
  • Managing negative emotions/cultivating positive emotions
  • Improving self-efficacy
  • Life Transitions (i.e., personal, familial, and/or social changes)
  • Relationship building/social support
  • Finding sense of belonging
  • Personal Health (nutrition, sleep hygiene)

Alcohol and Other Drugs Coaching

AOD coaching is for students looking to make changes in their alcohol/marijuana/or other drug use. This may include:

  • Implementing harm reduction strategies
  • Supporting focused sobriety time
  • Working towards or maintaining recovery
  • Connecting with others on campus who are also living a substance-free lifestyle

Drop-in Coaching

Drop-in coaching is available for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. It offers an opportunity for focused problem solving and is a great way to see if coaching is a good fit.

*Students are eligible for CSW services if they have paid the Student Health Fee.
