BIO

Lydell is an experienced program manager with a passion for fostering a healthier, more connected, and engaging work environment.  As the Belonging and Community Engagement Manager, Lydell will lead initiatives that foster a sense of belonging and facilitate meaningful connections among staff and the broader community.  With a military background, Lydell understands the importance of belonging.  Lydell is committed to creating spaces where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate.

Prior to Lydell’s current role, he served as the SkillBridge Program manager where he worked with Vanderbilt University leadership to create the veteran transition program by working collaboratively with various divisions and departments across the university to source internship and employment opportunities for transitioning service members from all branches of military service.  Lydell developed Vanderbilt University’s first Staff Athletics while serving as the SkillBridge Program Manager.

For Lydell’s contributions to higher education and the veteran community, he was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Nashville Emerging Leader Award. Lydell also serves as a board member for NeedLink Nashville.
