Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority was founded by seven illustrious educators at Butler University in Indiana on November 12, 1922. Our founders believed that self-respect, knowledge, and discipline gained through higher education would help the youth to recognize their duty and responsibility to society. Since its inception in 1922, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has built and sustained a well-known and well-respected reputation for leading positive change to help uplift the community through sisterhood, leadership, and service. The sorority has a proud history of providing positive and proactive community outreach nationally and internationally. Given these attributes, six dynamic young women chartered the “Oh So Sassy” Sigma Delta chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho on November 19, 2009.  Following the mission of enhancing the quality of life for women and their families, the ladies of Sigma Delta have hosted events such as Project Cradle Care, a Project Reassurance Baby Shower, and a Breast Cancer Awareness Marathon. We welcome all women, who are devoted to accomplishing our sorority’s vision and mission through service and commitment, to joining our organization.
