Vanderbilt encourages the entire campus community to participate in the upcoming November 5 general election. With the voter registration deadline approaching, students, faculty and staff can take advantage of several voter registration and educational events coming up. Now is the time to mark your calendars, make a plan and get ready to make your voice heard on November 5.
Key dates to remember:
- October 7: Voter registration deadline (State of Tennessee)
- October 7–11: National Voter Education Week
- October 16–31: Early voting period for the general election (State of Tennessee)
- November 5: Election Day (State and federal general election)
A critical step in being an engaged citizen is to vote. Vanderbilt encourages every eligible member of the university community—students, staff and faculty—to participate in the democratic process and exercise their right to register and vote in elections held in their districts of residence.
To help students, faculty and staff navigate the electoral process, Vanderbilt has partnered with TurboVote, a platform that simplifies voter registration and provides updates on election details like polling locations, candidate information and any last-minute changes. TurboVote supports voters from all states and jurisdictions, offering comprehensive information on registration and election day details no matter where you’re voting.
In addition to these tools, there are several events throughout September and October designed to help the Vanderbilt community get registered, stay informed and engage in the electoral process.
