Exploring Nashville’s rich diversity: A historical journey with Vanderbilt University and Nashville Public Library

Nashville, a city with a vibrant history, is taking a deep dive into its diverse roots through a compelling event series hosted by Vanderbilt University and Nashville Public Library Special Collections. This initiative, titled "Then and Now: The History of Minority Communities in Nashville," delves into the history of various communities that contribute to the rich tapestry of Nashville.

Four thought-provoking panel discussions have already unfolded, each focusing on a distinct community: Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Jewish, and LGBTQI+. These discussions have brought together historians and community partners to explore the unique stories and contributions of these communities to Nashville's growth and evolution.
