Located in the international hub of Geneva, this study center program gives students a unique opportunity to examine the evolving role of multilateral diplomacy in international relationships and responses to security challenges. Students will have numerous occasions to meet experts working at international organizations, academic institutions, and research centers, working in fields such as multilateral diplomacy, conflict resolution, development, the environment, and security. Coursework includes instruction in French (multiple levels) as well as excursions, including travel to Paris and Brussels to become acquainted with EU issues and structures and visit important international organizations. Students will live with a Swiss or international family in the French-speaking canton of Vaud, providing an opportunity to deepen and practice language skills and participate more fully in local cultures. In the final month of the program, students complete an independent research project, focusing their efforts on their own specific interests.
