Events & Outreach

Each semester, Study Abroad offers many ways to learn about study abroad across campus, including information sessions, open houses, and information fairs. Scroll down to see what we have coming up!

Study Abroad also sends both student and staff representatives to other organizations’ events to talk about opportunities for study abroad. If you’d like us to come to your event, email us at studyabroad@vanderbilt.edu. Please submit your request at least 7 days prior to your event. You can expect a response from us within 3 business days.

APPLY TO OUR PHOTO CONTEST!

Study Abroad students as well as non-Study Abroad participants who completed other global immersion experiences during one of these terms are invited to submit photos:

  • Fall 2023
  • Spring 2024
  • Academic Year 2023-2024
  • Maymester 2024
  • Summer 2024

Photo submissions are accepted on a rolling basis until the final deadline of August 9, 2024.

Winners will receive a prize as well as see their photos displayed at the Study Abroad Fair and in the Board of Trust hallway. Student winners will have the option to claim their photo print at the end of the academic year!

Learn budgeting tips and tricks along with all the right questions to ask about finances when it comes to study abroad.

Going abroad and have questions about budgeting? Join us for a study abroad budgeting workshop on Tuesday, November 28th from 4:00-5:00 PM in the EL&IV office lobby. We will discuss everything from traveling to grocery shopping and give you our best money-saving tips to prepare for your semester abroad!

Interested in studying abroad? Have you been accepted to a program and want to hear from alumni? Then join us for the Study Abroad Mixer in Rand Lounge (by 2301). All undergraduate students are welcome! You will hear from a student panel and then connect with study abroad alumni and other prospective students. Pizza will be provided!

France Visa Workshop

Wednesday, September 27, 1:00-3:00pm & Friday, September 29, 2:00-4:00pm

To additionally support students through this process, our office will hosting French Visa Drop-in Advising to answer any questions you may have about the French visa process for our Vanderbilt approved study abroad programs in France. We’ll be hosting these drop-in office hours on the following dates: Wednesday, September 27 - 1:00-3:00pm and Friday, September 29 - 2:00-4:00pm.
