In her role as Associate General Counsel, Greta is responsible for advising on legal matters related to university research, technology, and data privacy, including overseeing compliance with state, federal, and international regulations. Greta’s expertise has helped campus partners navigate their digital communications with the Vanderbilt community and manage their contractual rights and responsibilities with respect to university information.
Greta received both her Bachelor of Arts in English from Vanderbilt University and Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School, where she was a publication editor for the Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law. Prior to joining Vanderbilt University’s Office of the General Counsel, Greta worked at the law firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C., where she advised clients in matters of privacy compliance, the negotiation of technology agreements, AI governance, and data use strategy.
Greta is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Greta is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) as certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Greta is admitted to practice law in Tennessee.
As a Double ‘Dore, Greta is a longstanding Vanderbilt sports fan – you can regularly find her cheering on the Commodores at FirstBank Stadium or Memorial Gym.
