CAMPUS ENGAGEMENT

  • 9 board of trust meetings
  • Collaboration with VSG resulting in a proposal of 45 recommendations for the FutureVU plan
  • FutureVU Expo attended by 800+ people
  • 5 faculty advisory committee meetings
  • 6 transportation working groups of 90+ students, faculty and staff formed in collaboration with the Wond’ry
  • 4 town halls
  • 8 history presentations
  • Over 20 external community meetings
  • Over 20 student sessions
  • 1380+ total participants as of May 2017

 

UNDERGRADUATE RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES: WEST END

  • Four new colleges: E. Bronson Ingram to open fall 2018, and three in active planning phase
  • Each College will have:
    • Dining room and server
    • Multipurpose rooms
    • Great room/library
    • Resident living room
    • Study rooms and lounges
    • Community kitchens
    • Laundry
    • Gender-neutral bathrooms
    • Singles, doubles, and suites
    • Courtyards
    • Engaged communities supported by ResLife, a Faculty Director, and Graduate Fellows
    • Neighborhood to include performance/recital and gallery spaces
    • Key requests for beautification:
      • Inclusivity
      • Accessibility
      • Community spaces
      • Green spaces
      • Pedestrian friendly
