The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Education exists to support and champion Vanderbilt faculty at every stage of their career and to promote and advise professional academic programs.

We will collaborate across all OFAPE units to:

Tracey George

Vice Provost Tracey George, J.D.

Tracey George serves as the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professional Education at Vanderbilt University. Reporting directly to University Provost C. Cybele Raver, George leads the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Education (OFAPE). OFAPE exists to support and champion Vanderbilt faculty at every stage of their career and to promote and advise professional academic programs. Vanderbilt University has over 4,000 full-time faculty across ten schools and colleges. OFAPE includes the Institute for Advancement of Higher Education, the Office of Academic Program Review, Assessment, & Accreditation, the Office of Educational Design & Development, the Office of Faculty Appointments, the Office of Faculty Development, the Office of Learning Innovation, and the Office of Professional Education. George is also the Charles B. Cox III and Lucy D. Cox Family Professor of Law and Liberty and Professor of Law and Political Science. She examines empirically how institutional design influences actions and outcomes in state and federal judicial systems. Along with co-authors Mitu Gulati and Albert Yoon, she has brought a political economic lens to elite legal labor markets in work featured in the New York Times and other news outlets. She and Russell Korobkin have published an innovative casebook on contract law, a subject for which she has earned Vanderbilt's student-selected Hall-Hartman Award for Outstanding Teaching eight times.
