About Us
Stephanie A. Roth (she/her/hers), Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity & Engagement: As Associate Vice Chancellor, Stephanie provides strategic leadership, support, and guidance to the Center of Expertise for Equity & Engagement in the Division of People, Culture and Belonging at Vanderbilt University. Stephanie oversees the Equal Opportunity and Access office, the Student Access office, and the Title IX office. These offices are responsible for coordinating and monitoring Vanderbilt’s compliance with the requirements of federal and state nondiscrimination laws; ensuring the prompt and equitable resolution of reports of sexual misconduct, other forms of discrimination and harassment, and retaliation; and establishing training and outreach initiatives that support a discrimination- and harassment-free learning, working, and living environment.
Batia Karabel (she/her/hers), Director of Strategic Optimization: Batia is responsible for oversight of major projects across the Center of Expertise for Equity & Engagement teams. Before joining E&E, Batia oversaw investigations into reports of misconduct, including Title IX and other forms of prohibited discrimination. She received a B.A. in Religion from Vassar College and a master’s degree in Organization and Leadership, Higher and Postsecondary Education from Columbia University. Before coming to Vanderbilt, Batia was the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Title IX Investigator at Vassar College where she also worked in Residential Life.
Chelsea Campbell (she/her/hers), Executive Coordinator: Chelsea directly supports AVC Roth and Director Karabel and assists with many projects across E&E. Chelsea also acts as the Financial Unit Manager for E&E and is responsible for assuring that all transactions are accurate and comply with applicable university and department policy. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Chelsea worked at UCLA and at Northwestern University. Chelsea received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Policy from the University of Michigan and is PMP-certified by the Project Management Institute.
Emily Rampe (she/her/hers), Resolution Optimization Specialist: Emily is responsible for case management across the Center for Expertise: Equity and Engagement. Prior to joining E&E, Emily worked as a senior administrative assistant in the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, Basic Sciences. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and son. Emily is originally from Michigan and as such is an avid Detroit sports fan. She also loves to cook and bake and spend time outside, especially on the water.
