Celebration Corner: Spring 2025 Dissertation Writers’ Retreat
With the generous support of the Graduate College, the College of Arts and Science Dean’s Office, and our newest sponsor, the BRET Office of Career Development ASPIRE Program, the Writing Studio hosts a two-day retreat for dissertating writers each spring.
The second of our three-part series, our spring retreat brought together thirty-one students from nineteen programs and departments, ranging from History to Chemical Engineering to Community Research and Action. We also welcomed Susan Hilderbrand, Senior Program Coordinator for Academic Affairs in the Graduate School, who offered a workshop for participants on graduation requirements.
The Writing Studio is proud to offer this support to Vanderbilt’s graduate community. If you—or one of your graduate students—would like to participate, watch this space. Our next retreat will be held in June, and we’re eager to help you move your major projects forward!

Retreat participants join Dr. John Bradley, Director of the Writing Studio and Tutoring Services, for an afternoon writing workshop.
