Spring 2022 Study Abroad
We are pleased to announce that the Global Education Office will offer study abroad programming for Spring 2022. Because COVID-19 remains a concern and we want to ensure students have as successful a study abroad experience as possible, a selective list of programs will be made available. This list will be significantly expanded from Fall 2021—students will have approximately 50 programs, in 25 countries, to choose from!
The complete list of open programs are linked here. These will be the only programs available for Spring 2022 application, and GEO will not be able to consider petitions to attend alternate programs or sites.
Please rest assured that conditions abroad will be continuously monitored in the period leading up to the start of the fall term. Final decisions about whether travel can proceed will be made on a location-by-location basis in October.
Applications are open now! Applications are due in September. GEO staff are available to advise you virtually throughout the summer.
Please visit GEO’s Spring 2022 information page for additional information regarding Spring 2022, including frequently asked questions about how the experience might differ from pre-pandemic study abroad, how and when final decisions on travel will be made, and more.

We highly recommend you attend one of these two sessions. If you can’t attend either, look for a recording to be posted by July 21 on our website.

Remote Global Internships in Fall 2021
Applications are still open for credit-bearing remote internships with organizations worldwide via our partner SIT. SIT offers thematic internships abroad in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, in nonprofit, private, and government sectors. These internships allow you to work remotely with an overseas organization and earn credit, all while continuing with your regular fall semester at Vanderbilt.
Remote Global Internships are available to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in good standing; note that seniors should be planning to graduate in the spring of 2022 or later. The program fee is considered part of your cost of attendance for the semester, so it can potentially be covered by financial aid!
Applications are due July 26.
