Dear Vanderbilt Students,
It is with great sadness I share that one of our undergraduates, junior Brian Joseph Adams, passed away yesterday. While the official cause of death has not been determined, police at this point do not suspect foul play.
Our thoughts are with Brian’s loved ones and all who knew him, and we offer our deepest condolences during this terribly difficult time.
Brian, a student in the College of Arts and Science, was studying English and History. He worked in the Central Library and was interested in studying library sciences. Brian was involved in the Vanderbilt community in many ways. He was a member of student service organization Circle K, The Vanderbilt Review Literary Journal, Vanderbilt Historical View, and the Fencing Club. Brian also participated in many performing arts groups, including Vanderbilt Off-Broadway, Vanderbilt University Theatre, and the Iceberg Theater Company.
This loss to our community affects us all. Please know that support services are available to help you during this difficult time. We urge grieving students seeking assistance to reach out to our campus support services:
Please know that we are here to assist you in any way possible.
