Dear Vanderbilt Student,
We hope you are safe and healthy.
Over the past weeks, we have been working diligently on plans regarding the re-opening of campus for the fall semester. We continue to work to reschedule our remaining housing assignment processes for students who do not yet have a room assignment, and take necessary steps to support the safety of all students who reside in our residential communities. In an effort to lower the density in our on-campus residence halls for the upcoming academic year, we are re-opening the off-campus housing application for all continuing students, including rising 2nd year students who were previously not permitted to apply.
Any continuing student, including those who currently have an on-campus housing assignment for the 2020-2021 academic year, is welcome to apply for off-campus authorization. The Off-Campus Housing Application is available in the Student Housing Portal from now until 8:00 a.m. CST on Friday, May 29. Results will be announced at a later date yet to be determined. Students should not commit themselves in any way to an off-campus property until they are granted off-campus authorization.
Students interested in applying should consider utilizing the Off-Campus Housing Service to view available listings in the surrounding area to help determine if off-campus living is a feasible option. Students are not required to utilize the Off-Campus Housing Service; however, it is a free resource available to all members of the Vanderbilt community.
The cost of living on campus is part of the normal cost of attendance used in determining your eligibility for financial aid. That amount does not change for students who are in Nashville and living off-campus.
If you have any questions about your aid, please be sure to consult with the Office of Financial Aid.
If you have questions, you can call the Office of Housing and Residential Experience at 615-322-2591 or send an email to ohare@vanderbilt.edu.
