Victoria Donato has an M.A. in TESOL & Applied Linguistics from The University of Mississippi, where she was a volunteer instructor for the Community ESL Program and taught courses in Reading and World Cultures in the Intensive English Program (IEP). From there Victoria taught K-12 English Language Learners (ELLs) in the Mississippi public school system before going on to teach ESL in the Center For Language Education (CLE) at Johns Hopkins University. There she served as the sole ESL instructor teaching English Pronunciation, Advanced Grammar and Academic Writing, and Public Speaking. Victoria’s research interests include cross-cultural communication, dialectology, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and phonology. In her free time, Victoria loves boxing, studying languages (particularly Italian and Japanese), and traveling.
