Organizations and Resources for AAPI Professionals
- Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA) Founded in 1972 by a group of Asian American psychologists and other mental health professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, the mission of the Asian American Psychological Association is to advance the mental health and well-being of Asian American communities through research, professional practice, education, and policy.
- National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association The mission of the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) is to promote the mental health and well-being of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Since its founding, NAAPIMHA strives to raise awareness of the role of mental health in an individual’s health and well-being, especially in Asian American Pacific Islander communities throughout the country.
- Asian Pride Project Stories of lesbian, gay, transgender, and queer triumphs and struggles in our Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities through the eyes of parents, elders, and family.

AAPI Hate Incident and Hate Crime Reporting:
- Asian Americans Advancing Justice records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
- Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council (A3PCON) records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents in English, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Khmer, Punjabi, Tagalog, Hmong, and Hindi.
- Muslim Advocates records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents against the American Muslim community.
- OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents in English.
- Sikh Coalition records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents against the Sikh American community.
- South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT) records hate crimes and hate/bias incidents against the South Asian, Sikh, Muslim, and Arab communities.

- Asian Americans Advancing Justice is part of Communities Against Hate, a diverse coalition of civil rights organizations led by the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Read the report Hate Magnified published by the coalition in January 2019 that details reports submitted to Communities Against Hate.
- “Addressing Prejudices Against Asian Americans During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” virtual panel event, first in the series Racism is a Public Health Issue, co-presented by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA); GYOPO; and StopDiscriminAsian (SDA). - Stand Against Hate: Tracking hate through reporting stories of anti-Asian incidents organized by Asian Americans Advancing Justice Stand Against Hate
- Stop AAPI Hate: Report forms/records of hate crimes against Asian Americans coordinated by The Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council, Chinese for Affirmative Action, and the Department of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University
- StopDiscriminAsian (SDA) is a coalition of workers within arts and culture, who are confronting the racism, xenophobia, and violence towards diasporic Asians that have been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- All Americans Movement: A cross-cultural campaign– affiliated with former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang– mobilizing partnerships in support of marginalized communities most affected by COVID-19.
- Anti-Racism Response Network: AAPI Civic Engagement Fund will be the hub for centralizing AAPI organizing and advocacy of AAPIs during this COVID and presidential election year while advancing a racial and intersectional framework and responding to anti-Asian violence and racism
- Asian American Feminist Antibodies: Care in the Time of Coronavirus: a digital zine offering art, writing, and strategies for survival and self-and collective care from Asian American Feminist Collective and Bluestockings NYC
- Care Package: Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center’s digital care package offering poems, films, and meditations during this time
- Corona Conversations East and West: special CUNY Online bulletin about coronavirus and Asian American communities, soliciting writing of all genres by April 30th (digital publication in May, print publication in the fall). Submission deadline passed
- Digital Town Hall: A Conversation on the Asian American Experience: Hosted by Center for Asian American Media, WETA, and Asian American community leaders on April 30th, this virtual conversation will bring together journalists, media makers, artists, elected officials, and philanthropists to explore how lessons from Asian American history can help us understand the experience of Asian Americans during COVID-19. Event date passed
- GYOPO COVID-19 Response Fund: GYOPO is a coalition of Korean diasporic artists, cultural producers, and others in L.A. that has developed a response fund and is doing other covid-related programming and work.
- Storytelling in the time of COVID-19 webinar: Story Center offers a free weekly webinar on storytelling and documentation in the time of COVID
- The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and their Stop Hate project to provide assistance to those impacted by hate. Assistance with legal and social services is available through the Stop Hate hotline (1-844-9-NO-HATE), which is accessible in a number of languages.
